2nd day of a 3 day Trust Council Meeting held on Galiano Island

None of us can attend for all 3 days, but 5 people from Salt Spring do make it for this Wednesday, March 9th.

Tim O'Connor, Mike Best and John Quesnel take John's open boat, Julia Lucich and I take the 6:15 am ferry from Long Harbour. It is not an easy trip. Coming back is rough too. The 3 men have to take their boat back, Julia goes to Vancouver and spends the night, I take the 6:30 pm water taxi. It was a full day. A lot of video. • Walter Forstbauer (Galiano Forest Property Owner- challenges Sheila Malcolmson as to the accuracy of her statement that The Trust Council does not make decision on local issues; Ms Malcolmson concedes, saying that was the only time in the whole 35 years that this has happened.)

The Trustee Remuneration - Amendment

An amendment to the Trustee Remuneration Bylaw - watch the motion presented by Tony Law (Trustee from Hornby Island) proposing to remove the amount that trustees receive for attending meetings. Listen to what the different trustees say about this amendment, trustee remuneration in general and the input that they recieved from the public.

It is interesting to note that some trustees thought that the public response was overwhelmingly positive whereas others thought there was considerable opposition.
